To support the Finance Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the SACCO’s financial operations, ensuring sound financial management, regulatory compliance, effective reporting, and optimal utilisation of financial resources in line with statutory, regulatory, and institutional requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Support the planning, coordination, and execution of the SACCO’s financial functions and finance-related projects.
· Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and analyses.
· Draft and support preparation of budgets, income statements, tax returns, and statutory reports required by regulatory authorities.
· Identify, manage, and monitor financial risks associated with the SACCO’s operations and investments.
· Support setting and monitoring of short-term and long-term financial objectives through defined performance targets.
· Compile financial reports and supervise month-end and year-end closing processes.
· Track financial performance through KPIs, metrics, and variance analysis for the Finance Department.
· Evaluate financial performance and assess returns on investments and asset utilisation.
· Support staff training on financial policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
· Administer and review the Society’s accounting policies and procedures.
· Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, legal, social, and regulatory requirements, including SASRA guidelines.
· Benchmark market trends in the finance sector and prepare periodic analytical reports.
· Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all financial accounts.
· Liaise with other departments to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information and reports.
· Support prudent financial management and investment decisions through application of sound financial policies.
· Prepare and implement the Finance Department’s annual work plan.
· Supervise accountants and finance support staff.
· Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management.
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, with CPA (K) qualification and membership with ICPAK.
· 3-4 years of proven experience in a financial institution.
· Experience in financial performance analysis, investment appraisal, risk management, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
· Sound knowledge of IFRS standards and SASRA regulations, with a good understanding of fiscal and monetary regulations and procurement processes.
· Knowledge of prevailing legislation and best practices in the financial services sector.
· Strong leadership, supervisory, and people management skills, with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
