Senior Accountant(Indian)
Job summary
We are looking for an Indian can be male or female but must have ACCA experience and well equipped in accounting software’s, for our subsidiary company. The person must have finance experience as well. To oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls.
Job descriptions & requirements
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, KRA tax regulations, and company policies
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, KRA, and other regulatory bodies
- Monitor statutory payments: PAYE, VAT, NSSF, NHIF/SHA, Housing Levy
#### 2. Accounting Operations
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Review and approve journal entries, postings, and month-end close process
- Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and cost control
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions
#### 3. Accounting Software & Systems
- Must have hands-on experience in ALL accounting software including:
- QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, Pastel, SAP, Oracle, Xero, ERP systems
- Maintain and optimize the accounting system for the cleaning business
- Train junior finance staff on use of accounting software and best practices
- Generate reports, dashboards, and automate processes to improve efficiency
#### 4. Business Support
- Support pricing, costing for residential, commercial, and pest control jobs
- Analyze profitability by service line, client, and branch
- Provide financial advice to management for decision making
- Manage company budget and variance analysis
#### 5. Internal Controls & Audit
- Develop and enforce internal controls and financial policies
- Ensure assets are safeguarded and fraud prevention measures are in place
- Review contracts, invoices, and payment schedules
### QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- ACCA Qualified or Finalist. CPA(K) is an added advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 4-5 years experience as an Accountant, with 2 years at Senior level
- Proven experience in a service-based company is an advantage
- Expert in all accounting software: QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Xero, ERP, Advanced Excel
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and KRA systems: iTax, KRA PIN, ETR
### KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Technical: IFRS, VAT, PAYE, audit, budgeting, costing, reconciliations
- Software: Advanced Excel, QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Xero, ERP, Payroll systems
- Analytical: Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
- Leadership: Team management and mentoring junior staff
- Other: High integrity, attention to detail, good communication, ability to work under pressure
