Senior Accounts Supervisor

Location: Nairobi

In this role you will be crucial in maintaining our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with the finance team to support financial planning, reporting, and analysis.The ideal candidate will be a self-driven individual with strong people management skills and a passion for excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

• Ensure timely and accurate valuation & postings of imported feeds.

• Work closely with the rest of the finance team to manage month-end and year- end closing activities.

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial transactions.

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.

• Perform ledger postings & reconciliations for entries relating to the parent Company.

• Update monthly FX rates.

• Maintain accrual and prepayment schedules.

• Compute and post loan interest accruals and payments.

• Prepare cash flow projections.

• Ensure accurate and timely deduction and submission of various classes of withholding tax.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards/IFRS and company policies.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.

• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors.

• Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration from a recognized Institution.

• CPA (K) Finalist.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years in a Senior Accountant position.

• Strong people management skills.

• Self-driven and able to work under minimum supervision.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
