ROLE: SERVICE TECHNICAN
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out installation, service, repair, training, demo, upgrades and commissioning for equipment within set target times efficiently
- Delivery high levels of customer support and satisfaction
- Ensure you are prepared for service/ installation jobs by reading relevant manuals, checking list of spares/ equipment onsite, checking and confirming pre-installation requirements are prior to task
- Actively learn about equipment sold by the company.
- Keep up to date knowledge of changes and upgrades for all equipment
- Maintain complete and accurate records (i.e. job cards, reports, installation certificates) for every job done within service software and relevant databases
- Follow up with relevant personnel for pending/ open jobs
- Assist Technical manager with Spare stock inventory management.
- Communicate reports and status of pending works to the technical manager daily
- Take part in all training as and when required by the management
- Provide technical support via email and telephone to clients and colleagues.
- Reduce operation costs wastage by working efficiently
- Liaise with suppliers/ manufacturers for technical support
- Provide the technical Manager with list of spares to order for clients and for stock
- Practicing compliance with company policies & SOP in the technical department.
- Engaging in training sessions both internal and external as company requires
- Being a Brand ambassador and generating Sales leads through technical services for the sales department.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong measurement abilities and analysis skills to quickly and accurately calibrate, monitor, test, and repair equipment as listed below:
- Troubleshooting capability to determine the problem that the equipment may be having etc.
- Root course analysis: getting to the origin of the problem
- Analytical ability to analyse raw data, extract key information, and draw logical conclusions.
- Communication skills ie excellent verbal and written communication skills
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, physics or related field is preferred
- 2-3 years of service engineering experience preferably in the field of analytical equipment and laboratory instruments.
- The ability to work independently and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction are essential for success.
- Driving license, willingness to travel both locally and abroad.
