JOB TITLE; SHOP ATTENDANT – WINES & SPIRITS
NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME
INDUSTRY: RETAIL/WINES &SPIRITS
SALARY: KSHS. 25,000
JOB LOCATION: KENYATTA MARKET

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service &Sales Support
  • Greet and assist customers in selecting wines, spirits, and related products.
  • Handle customer inquiries, provide product knowledge, and make recommendations to enhance sales.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using the POS (Point of Sale) system.
  • Address customer complaints or issues promptly, escalating when necessary.

Inventory Management & Stock Handling
  • Receive, unpack, and check deliveries against invoices for accuracy.
  • Organize stock, monitor inventory levels, and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Arrange displays and shelves to maintain an attractive and orderly presentation.
  • Assist with stock rotation to ensure products are fresh and correctly labeled.

Shop Maintenance & Cleanliness
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment at all times.
  • Ensure proper storage of alcoholic beverages and adherence to safety standards.
  • Support security measures to prevent loss, theft, or damage.

Operational Support
  • Facilitate deliveries, including loading/unloading stock and restocking shelves.
  • Support management with administrative tasks such as record keeping or reporting sales.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily sales and operational goals.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
  • Prior experience in retail, preferably in wines, spirits, or FMCG products
  • Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems
  • Good inventory management and stock handling experience
  • Knowledge of different types of wines and spirits
  • Experience in merchandising and product display
  • Ability to handle cash and maintain accurate financial records
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy retail environment
  • Basic numeracy and organizational skills
  • Responsible, reliable, and punctual
