We are seeking a motivated Short Term Recruitment Consultant Associate to join our team and support urgent, high-quality recruitment for the ASAL Agribusiness Model implementation. The role will focus on identifying and recruiting Regional Business Managers and Value Chain Business Coaches from local residents within the target counties which are Baringo, Garissa, Isiolo, Lamu , Elgeyo Marakwet, Mandera, Marsabit, Samburu, Tana River, Turkana, Wajir , West Pokot and Laikipia.
Assignment Duration:10 days (field-based)
Responsibilities
Reporting To: Head of Human Resources -Selistar Services Management
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop a targeted, county-specific recruitment plan for the single assigned county, identifying the most effective local sourcing channels (community structures, CDDCs, FPOs, SACCOs, churches, mosques, youth/women groups, existing databases).
2. Proactively identify and source suitable candidates through personal networks, community leaders, and grassroots structures within the assigned county only.
3. Screen applications and CVs against agreed job criteria (experience, local knowledge, diversity targets).
4. Conduct preliminary telephone or in-person interviews to assess fit, motivation, and competence.
5. Perform reference checks on shortlisted candidates.
6. Prepare a high-quality shortlist with detailed candidate profiles, interview notes, reference summaries, and clear recommendations.
7. Coordinate logistics and scheduling for final interviews with the Selistar Management Services / CPHRM team.
8. Prioritize diversity targets (women, youth, vulnerable and marginalized groups) throughout the process.
9. Deliver all outputs within the agreed 10-day timeline.
Deliverables
● Detailed recruitment plan for the county
● Minimum 8 shortlisted candidates for Regional Business Manager and 30 Business Coaches
● Completed candidate profiles and reference check reports
● Final shortlist submitted to Selistaer Management Services by end of Day 10
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
● Minimum 3–5 years’ hands-on recruitment experience, preferably in agriculture, rural development, or community-based projects.
● Strong local networks and knowledge of the target county (community structures, language, local dynamics).
● Proven success in recruiting field-based roles (extension workers, agribusiness, cooperative staff).
● Excellent interviewing, assessment, and report-writing skills.
● Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
