Lutheran World Federation World Service Kenya Program is seeking to recruit a Kenyan national for the following position to be based inÂ Kakuma.
Overall Purpose/Broad Function:
Reporting to the Reception Assistant, Reception Centre Social Worker functions shall be responsible for conducting and overseeing vulnerability assessment, Psychosocial support, documentation, data collection, identification and referrals of vulnerable identified cases.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR : SOCIAL WORKER- RECEPTION CENTER.
Duties and responsibilities
Â· Receiving and facilitating of psychosocial assessment of the new arrivals at the reception center.
Â·Referral of identified vulnerable new arrivals to other partners/agencies for specialized support.
Â·Oversee distribution of CRIS/ Non-food items and food to received new arrivals.
Â·Ensure proper utilization of resources at the reception center.
Â·Carry out Focus group discussions and information sharing with new arrivals on services available in the camp.
Â· In liaison with caretakers, ensure basic needs of extremely vulnerable new arrivals are met.
Â·Enhance and promote coordination and cooperation with other partners in offering services to new arrivals.
Â·Compile and forward reports for the reception Centre to the supervisor, Sector head and LWF management on time.
Â· Manage incentive staffs, prepare timesheets and forward to Human Resource for verification and processing of payment.
Â·Attend to any other duty as may be assigned by immediate supervisor or management.
Â·Diploma/University degree in Social work, Community development, Disaster Management Sociology or Counselling Psychology.
Â·Skills and competencies.
Â·Computer Knowledge in Microsoft Office is a requirement.
Â·Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Â·Experience in working with Persons with specific needs will be an added advantage.
Â·At least 3 years of progressive experience as a Social Worker.
Â·Experience gained working with an International Humanitarian NGO will be an added advantage.
Â·Proficiency in English and Kiswahili language both written and spoken.Personal Attributes:
