Grade 2 Teacher - CBC

Key Responsibilities

1. 1.     Ensure full coverage of the curriculum within designated timelines, adapting lessons for diverse learning needs (visual, auditory, kinesthetic).
2. 2.     Prepare comprehensive schemes of work.
3. 3.     Foster a supportive teacher-learner relationship that encourages open communication.
4. 4.     Address concerns from learners or parents tactfully, involving the Head Teacher as needed.
5. 5.     Ensure the safety and well-being of students during school hours and report any injuries or health issues to the Head Teacher, administering first aid as necessary.
6. 6.     Identify and communicate any student-related issues to the Head Teacher.
7. 7.     Maintain an accurate class register for both morning and afternoon sessions.
8. 8.     Use student diaries to relay important information regarding student progress to parents.
9. 9.     Actively participate in organizing school functions and activities.
10. 1   To perform any other duty that may be assigned form time to time.

Qualifications

1. 1.     A Minimum of KHA Diploma or its equivalent from a recognized institution or a Primary Teacher Education (PTE) Certificate (formerly known as P1 Certificate)
2. 2.     Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission.
3. 3.     At least 5 years teaching experience from a recognized institution.
4. 4.     Demonstrated understanding of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and modern teaching methodologies.
5. 5.     Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
6. 6.     Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that accommodates diverse learning needs.
7. 7.     Proficient in using educational technology and teaching aids to enhance learning experiences. 
8. 8.     Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and maintain accurate records.
