Role ProfileHoward Humphreys (East Africa) Limited is looking to hire a skilled and experienced Sociologist to support the organization in the implementation and monitoring of social safeguards on infrastructural projects. The successful candidate should be familiar with the IFC performance standards, World Bank Social safeguards and AfDB safeguards policiesQualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from a reputable universityProfessional Membership: Membership with a relevant body will be an added advantage.Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Sociologist on infrastructure development projectsPractical experience in carrying out Social Impact Assessments/Social Surveys and audits, monitoring/supervision of social safeguards during construction phase, Resettlement Action Planning (RAP), and reporting.Knowledge of IFC performance standards, World Bank Social safeguards and AfDB safeguards policies.People skills including interpersonal, organizational, communication and time management skills.Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks including plan field tasks, produce comprehensive reports, prepare bids and proposals as well as support in business development activities.
