Job descriptions & requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging, Radiography, or Sonography from a recognized institution.

·         Registered with the relevant regulatory body and holding a valid practicing license.

·         Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in sonography or diagnostic imaging within a healthcare facility.

·         Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an added advantage.

·         Proficiency in computer applications and Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).

·         Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.

·         Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to high-quality diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound and X-ray examinations accurately and efficiently, ensuring consistently high-quality imaging results.
  • Conduct advanced ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to elastography, 3D/4D obstetric scans, and other specialized imaging as required.
  • Provide patient-centred care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing patient concerns, and offering compassionate guidance throughout the diagnostic process.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of imaging procedures and patient records in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and service delivery.
  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance, calibration, and safe use of ultrasound equipment; promptly report faults or safety concerns.
  • Uphold infection prevention and control, hygiene, and radiation safety standards within the imaging department.
  • Act ethically and professionally within a multidisciplinary team, promoting a culture of quality, accountability, and excellence.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, applying best practices, emerging research, and new technologies to enhance imaging services.
  • Participate in patient care planning and provide emotional and professional support as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor in line with departmental needs.
