Job Title: Stock Accountant – Textile & Manufacturing
- Record and monitor receipts of fabrics, yarn, threads, zips, buttons, packaging materials and other production inputs.
- Reconcile supplier invoices, purchase orders and Goods Received Notes.
- Ensure all materials received are correctly captured in the ERP system.
- Monitor raw material consumption against production requirements.
- Investigate unusual or excessive material consumption.
- Maintain accurate records of all raw materials received, issued, transferred, returned and consumed.
- Verify materials received against purchase orders, delivery notes and supplier invoices.
- Monitor material usage against approved production requirements and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Ensure all material issues to production are properly documented and authorised.
- Track materials from the stores to the specific production order, batch or finished product.
- Investigate unexplained stock variances and material losses.
- Track materials issued to production and materials returned to stores.
- Monitor work-in-progress at different stages of production.
- Reconcile production issues, returns, wastage and finished goods produced.
- Work with the Production Team to ensure accurate production records.
- Monitor production variances against standard/budgeted material consumption.
- Ensure production wastage is properly recorded and authorized.
- Maintain accurate records of finished goods produced and transferred to finished-goods stores.
- Reconcile production output with finished goods received into stores.
- Monitor finished goods movements between production, stores and sales.
- Ensure sales dispatches are properly matched with stock records.
- Monitor slow-moving and obsolete finished goods.
- Conduct regular reconciliations between physical stock and ERP records.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual stock counts.
- Investigate shortages, excesses and unexplained variances.
- Prepare stock variance reports and recommend corrective action.
- Ensure all stock adjustments are properly authorized and document
- Ensure adherence to company stock control policies.
- Ensure proper authorization of stock receipts, issues, transfers and adjustments.
- Maintain complete documentation for all inventory transactions.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Identify weaknesses in inventory controls and recommend improvements.
- 3–5 years' relevant experience in stock accounting, inventory accounting, management accounting, or manufacturing finance.
- At least 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment would be highly desirable.
- Experience with raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods.
- Experience in production costing, material consumption and variance analysis.
- Experience tracking wastage, rejects, production losses and material variances.
- Minimum KCSE Grade C+ or equivalent.
- Certificate, diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CPA (K) Part II or equivalent professional qualification is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data analysis.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, inventory controls and reconciliation procedures.
- Good understanding of ERP( Knowledge in ERP Next added advantage) systems and inventory management processes.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- High level of integrity and accountability.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
