Job Summary

The Student Recruitment Lead is a good relationship builder, enthusiastic to assisting students recognizing and achieving their full potential as they embark on their undergraduate and post graduate degrees abroad. They excel as communicators, capable of delivering presentations in a professional manner and adjusting their style and content for diverse audiences. They possess a strong background in the digital marketing landscape and they are well versed with most of the social media platforms. Possessing robust event planning and project management skills, they find enjoyment in operating within a fast-paced environment.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities

• Working with the recruitment team to develop and create new recruiting initiatives on the continent.

• Take a lead on recruiting activities in Africa including delivering high school presentations including university fairs, online information sessions and other events.

• Visit high schools to build relationships within the wider high school community on the continent.

• Represent the institution you’ve been assigned to at local and international university fairs.

• Providing admissions criteria/information to prospective students.

• Build and maintain a database of high-quality candidates from different recruiting events and nurture these leads to convert to become applicants.

• Follow up with all applicants to maximize conversion of applicants to matriculated students.

• Plan and execute special events such as institution led in- country road trips.

• Establish, monitor and report on key performance indicators pertinent to the recruiting process.

• Collaborate with the marketing team at the institution you’ve been assigned to, to develop, manage and grow the institution’s social media presence

• Stay up to date on higher education trends on the continent and share this with the larger team on a periodic basis.

• Relationship Management with study abroad consultants. This includes identifying suitable study abroad consultants, managing & monitoring their progress

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in marketing required. Masters degree preferred.

• Five-Seven years’ relevant experience required in Marketing, Sales or Recruitment. Experience in a University or College setting is an asset.



Skills & Abilities

• Strong business development skills with demonstrable success in previous roles.

• Strong communication skills.

• Strong initiative work habit with an ability to manage multiple tasks to completion within tight deadlines.

• Strong time management skills.

• Willing to travel for 20-40% of the time primarily within the African continent.

• Flexibility with working hours (early mornings, some evenings and travelling overnight/early morning are required at different times during the year).

• Strong team player with a positive outlook who is willing to contribute to the team’s success.

• Able to work with minimal supervision. This role might involve working 40% remotely.

• Demonstrated ability to provide guidance to prospective applicants.

• A strong understanding of Social Media platforms.

• Flexibility with work hours (occasional evenings, early mornings and travel overnight are required at different times during the year).

• Strong MS Office skills including Excel.

• Good analytical skills.
