On behalf of our client, a leading FMCG manufacturer, we are seeking an experienced Team Lead (Plastic Factory)
The ideal Candidate will oversees all shift operations across Closure, Preform, and Blow Moulding manufacturing. The primary goal is to execute production planning and maintenance activities seamlessly, ensuring high-quality standards, meeting demand on time, and driving cost-saving initiatives.
Academic & Professional Requirements.
- Bachelors of Science. in Plastics, Polymer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering; alternatively, a Bachelors of Science with a CIPET Diploma in Plastics Processing Technology
Experience
- 10–15 years in PET Preform and Closure manufacturing, specifically with high-speed European machinery (e.g., Husky, Sacmi, Netstal, SIPA, Krauss Maffei).with hands on experience in plastic plant operation and maintenance.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience in Preventative (PM), Corrective (CM), and Emergency Maintenance.
- Ability to use SAP and interpret/design technical drawings via AutoCAD.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead teams.
Responsibilities & Requirements
1. Operations & Production Planning
· Manage production plan execution and mould changeovers to meet demand schedules.
· Monitor raw material consumption and coordinate with stores to optimize material yields.
· Manage preform and closure storage boxes to ensure efficient rotation between the plastic plant and filling lines.
· Establish SOPs for all machinery and submit daily production and master yield reports.
2. Maintenance & Technical Oversight
· Supervise the commissioning, upkeep, and maintenance of moulding machines, moulds, and utilities (chillers, dryers, compressors, granulators).
· Perform complex technical tasks and set processing parameters for troubleshooting.
· Minimize breakdowns to ensure a nonstop supply of preforms and closures to beverage production lines.
3. Strategy, Budget & Compliance
· Manage plant production budgets, monitor expenditures, and initiate cost-saving projects.
· Identify suppliers and negotiate pricing for raw and packaging materials.
· Enforce health, safety, and quality control programs in collaboration with the QA department.
· Plan and execute plastic waste management and recycling initiatives.
4. Leadership & People Management
· Supervise and motivate staff, identify training needs, and implement disciplinary procedures.
· Assist in developing company policies and ensure team compliance with established goals.
