The Technical Solar Sales Manager is responsible for leading the solar sales function by integrating technical expertise with strategic business development. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, expanding market share, ensuring technical and commercial accuracy of proposals, and overseeing the successful transition of projects.

Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, coach, and motivate a high-performing technical solar sales team to achieve individual and team targets aligned with organizational objectives.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine effective solar sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Prepare and present accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, performance metrics, and market insights to senior management.
- Manage and optimize sales budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation and maximum return on investment (ROI).
Technical Oversight & Proposal Management
- Review, evaluate, and approve solar system proposals, technical designs, quotations, and commercial offers.
- Ensure technical accuracy, compliance with industry standards and regulations, pricing integrity, and alignment with client requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to ensure accurate system sizing, feasibility assessments, and solution optimization.
Business Development & Client Relationship Management
- Identify new business opportunities through analysis of market trends, emerging solar technologies, and customer energy needs.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships by delivering technically sound and financially viable solar solutions.
- Act as a key point of contact for high-value clients and strategic accounts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Oversight
- Work closely with technical, operations, procurement, and project teams to ensure smooth handover from sales to execution.
- Oversee planning, coordination, and monitoring of solar projects from pre-sales through implementation.
- Ensure projects meet agreed timelines, quality standards, customer satisfaction benchmarks, and budgetary requirements.
Team Development & Performance Management
- Recruit, onboard, train, and continuously develop sales and marketing personnel.
- Foster professional growth through structured mentorship, performance reviews, technical training, and consultative sales coaching.
- Establish performance standards and accountability frameworks to drive excellence.
Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum of [5–7] years’ experience in solar/renewable energy sales, with at least [2–3] years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, system sizing, design principles, and industry standards.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and overseeing project execution.
