TOURS MANAGER
Job summary
The Tours Manager is accountable for the end-to-end performance of the Tours Department, covering sales delivery, product integrity, operational execution, profitability, and client satisfaction across corporate upsell products, FIT, group, leisure, and special interest tours. This role ensures tours are sold profitably, operated flawlessly, and scaled sustainably.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial & Sales Oversight:
- Own tours revenue, margins, and contribution targets
- Ensure pricing discipline, margin protection, and cost control
- Support sales team with complex quotations and escalations
- Approve exceptions on pricing, supplier selection, and inclusions
- Drive repeat business and referral growth
Product & Contracting Governance
- Oversee tour product design (FIT & group)
- Ensure products are:
- Competitive
- Operationally viable
- Margin-compliant
- Approve suppliers, contracts, and destination partners
- Ensure clear product costing templates and SOPs exist
Operations & Delivery
- Accountable for end-to-end tour delivery, even if execution is delegated
- Ensure:
- Correct handover from sales to operations
- Timely confirmations with suppliers
- Zero surprises for clients
- Handle escalations during travel disruptions
- Lead post-tour reviews and corrective actions
People & Performance Management
- Manage and develop the tours team
- Set KPIs for:
- Sales performance
- Margin achievement
- Operational accuracy
- Conduct performance reviews and coaching
- Identify skills gaps and training needs
- Support recruitment and onboarding
Governance & Controls
- Enforce SOPs across sales, product, and operations
- Ensure documentation accuracy (itineraries, costing, contracts)
- Work closely with Finance on:
- Profitability tracking
- Supplier payments
- Revenue assurance & forecasting
- Maintain risk controls for group travel and high-value bookings
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in a related field
- Over 10years experience in tours(FIT & Group)
- Strong background in tour costing and operations
- Experience in a reputable Travel Management Company or Outbound focused tour operator is preferred.
