Job Description/Requirements

2. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIEs

Strategic Plan Role

· Participate in the development of the corporate strategy and annual budgets for revenue and expenditure, aligned with approved operational plans and strategic objectives, ensuring adherence to company policies.

· Evaluate customer feedback and provide timely, effective solutions.

· Foster a company culture that reflects and reinforces the agreed corporate values and attributes.

· Develop and manage internal feedback mechanisms to assess departmental performance.

· Analyze new and existing products to determine break-even points in both quantity and price.

Technical Advisory Role

· Review risks across general, medical, life, and pension business lines to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines of partner insurers.

· Oversee the renewal process to achieve set turnaround times and deliver targeted retention rates.

· Lead negotiations for major corporate renewals within approved parameters.

Operational Excellence Role

· Provide technical expertise in rate negotiations based on client class and loss ratios.

· Ensure timely renewals and prompt dispatch of all relevant documents to clients.

· Implement internal controls related to underwriting and sales.

· Participate in management meetings, projects, and committees as assigned.

· Prepare quarterly underwriting reports to support management decision-making.

· Manage relationships with business partners, service providers, and suppliers.

· Ensure timely delivery of services in line with the customer service charter.

· Oversee all non-motor corporate renewals.

· Source quotations and manage newMotor and non-motor business and prospects.

· Implement operational policies and strategic plans in line with company objectives.

· Uphold and promote company culture and vision.

· Escalate client complaints to the Strategy and Business Development Executive within 24 hours.

· Solicit and analyze quotations for corporate renewals, ensuring alignment with the customer charter and company policy.

· Prepare and present analyses and recommendations for corporate clients, and coordinate appointments for presentations by the Strategy and Business Development Executive.

Staff Management & Performance Management

· Provide leadership to departmental staff, ensuring motivation and alignment with sales and underwriting goals.

· Conduct performance management in accordance with company guidelines, including setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conducting regular performance reviews.

· Continuously coach, mentor, and develop staff to build their competence as underwriters and client service officers.

Business Growth

· Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure continued business support and loyalty.

· Gather relevant market intelligence and feedback for discussion and incorporation into management decisions.

· Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Professional Qualifications

● Diploma in Insurance (ACII / AIIK)

 

Skills and Attributes

● Interpersonal and Communication skills and conflict resolution skills

● Sound knowledge of insurance, regulatory requirements, processes, and operations  

● Excellent communication and relationship building skills  

Highest level of personal and professional integrity
