Job descriptions & requirements
- Drive sales growth across assigned routes in Nairobi and Eastern Region
- Sell and distribute FMCG products including snacks, beverages, consumables, and food products
- Open new outlets and grow business in both existing and new accounts
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Handle loading, offloading, stock arrangement, stock counting, and reconciliation accurately
- Ensure proper accountability of van stock at all times
- Maintain correct records for stock loaded, stock sold, stock returned, and balances
- Prepare and submit daily sales reports, stock reports, and route reports on time
- Meet assigned sales, distribution, and collection targets
- Use mobile apps or reporting tools for daily reporting and communication
- Ensure proper product availability, visibility, and merchandising in the market
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and good condition of the assigned vehicle
- Report any stock, route, vehicle, or customer issues promptly
- Diploma or Degree in Sales and Marketing or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG van sales
- General sales experience is an added advantage
- Experience handling snacks, beverages, consumables, and food products
- Strong skills in inventory management, stock control, loading, and offloading
- Good record-keeping and reporting skills
- Ability to submit accurate reports on time
- Strong understanding of van sales operations and route management
- Must have a valid driving license and proven driving experience
- Must know how to properly maneuver a vehicle and handle common vehicle-related challenges in the field
- Basic knowledge of vehicle handling, road safety, and day-to-day vehicle responsibility
- Must own or have access to a smartphone
- Basic app usage skills for sales reporting and communication
- Ability to meet targets and work under pressure
- Must be punctual, disciplined, and accountable
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Target-oriented and self-driven
- Good customer relationship management
- Strong vehicle and stock management skills
- Ability to maneuver a vehicle confidently in different market and road conditions
- Basic understanding of vehicle-related issues and ability to report or respond appropriately
