Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Volunteer High School Mentor will work closely with students to provide mentorship, guidance, and support in their academic and personal development. Responsibilities include conducting mentorship sessions, assisting students in setting and achieving their goals, organizing skill-building workshops, and fostering a nurturing and encouraging environment for growth. The mentor will act as a role model and advisor, helping students overcome challenges and develop their potential.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with students.
• Experience in mentorship, counseling, or teaching, with a focus on supporting adolescents.
• Organizational and time management skills to plan and lead workshops, meetings, and mentorship sessions effectively.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to provide guidance and encouragement in a positive manner.
• Knowledge of educational development strategies and capability to help students in academic planning.
• A strong passion for youth empowerment and commitment to the mission of assisting deserving students to achieve their potential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience working in a mentorship or volunteer role is an added advantage.
