Our client is one of the  largest Lpg transporter in East Africa.


Role Summary

S/He will play a crucial role in ensuring there are no incidents and accidents in maintenance department and contractors through risk identification process. He will also ensure that maintenance jobs are in accordance with all corporate policies and manufacturers guidelines.


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure all regulatory obligations relating to carrying out operational duties are completed in consultation with the HSSE manager as required by the relevant contractual, legislative or internal policy requirements.

Ensure there are no incidents and accidents in maintenance department and contractors through risk identification process.

Ensure that maintenance jobs are in accordance with all corporate policies and manufacturers guidelines.

Advising the Managing director on planning and investment (short- and long- term goals).

Investigate, provide, and implement corrective measures for near misses and all safety incidents.

Heads the Emergency response team as OPS Alternate Base Controller.

Ensure all Emergency response equipment is functional at all times.

Ensures the yards and workshops are built to safety standards.

Develop and execute training plan for maintenance workers in liaison with HR.

Responsible for the maintenance, procurement, and planning of daily operations of for the workshop.

Manages and authorizes all PTW processes in the organization.

Runs, schedules, and reviews workload and manpower to make sure targets are

being met on a cost-effective basis in the workshop through workshop Foreman and maintenance supervisor.

Manages the stock control and checks that inventory records are accurate in liaison with the store’s supervisors.

Participate in the recruitment of new staff for the maintenance department and ensures suitability of the staff.

Aim and strive to achieve 98% reliability on all maintenance jobs and vehicle availability.

Approves all sign off and on-boarding of drivers and maintenance personnel.


KEY REQUIREMENTS

At least 3 years proven experience as a maintenance manager or a workshop manager.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
