Criteria

The ideal candidate should possess the below qualities:

• 25-35 years in age
• Either a graduate in the finance field or be a fully qualified CPA or ACCA
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Be proficient with at least one accounting computer software
• Be familiar with ITax and KRA regulations
• Be familiar with Kenyan tax and accounting regulations
• Have working experience of at least 5 years with at least 1 year preparing accounts up to Trial Balance level under minimal supervision
• Experience of managing a team in a finance department will be an added advantage
• Have excellent communication and reporting skills-both written and oral

Job description/Requirements

• Maintenance of the general/nominal/ledger
• Preparation of monthly bank account reconciliations
• Preparation of VAT reconciliations and submission of VAT returns-both on a monthly basis
• Being in charge of debt collection and enforcing credit control rules of the business
• Making all statutory payments before the stipulated deadlines
• Ensuring all out-going payments have adequate supporting documentation
• Enforcing adherence to business rules regarding staff allowances, petty cash, assets usage etc.
• Being the main point of contact in external audits conducted annually
• Providing background financial information to assist in interaction with the bank and other financial partners of the business
• Working under the supervision of the Finance Manager in preparing annual budgets
