  • Minimum 4 years relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and Kenyan tax laws
  • Hands-on experience with financial systems
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for establishing and maintaining an accounting system compliant with Kenya's tax laws and accounting standards, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial processing. Prepare monthly accounting vouchers, maintain subsidiary ledgers and general ledger, and conduct regular reconciliation and closing procedures to guarantee the authenticity and traceability of financial data. Assist in preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and provide required financial information for internal and external audits. Accurately calculate all taxes and fees as required by tax authorities, and complete tax filings and payments on time. Continuously optimize accounting processes to enhance operational efficiency and accounting quality.

2. Responsible for the registration of original invoices related to daily reimbursement, material procurement, project payment, and asset acquisition, and scanning and archiving them in the order of voucher.

3. Prepare financial statements compliant with Kenya's tax regulations based on verified accounting vouchers and ledgers and submit them to the chief accountant for review by the 15th of each month.

4. Responsible for the business connection with warehouse administrator and production statistician, responsible for production cost and inventory accounting. According to the audit of the warehouse entry and exit documents, production material requisition documents, production daily report, etc., timely register into the account, summarize regularly, and issue production cost report on time.

5. Responsible for collecting and recording VAT input invoices and issuing VAT output invoices. Accurately calculate and withhold corporate withholding tax (WHT), employee PAYE, pensions, housing allowances, and medical insurance contributions. Submit tax filing materials to tax agencies and local tax authorities on time.

6. Complete other tasks arranged by the chief accountant.
