Assistant Chef / Kitchen Supervisor

We are seeking a disciplined and hands-on Assistant Chef / Kitchen Supervisor to support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals within a busy boarding school environment.
This role blends operational leadership with active food production to ensure efficient, hygienic, and cost-conscious kitchen operations.
Assistant Chef / Kitchen SupervisorKey Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will supervise kitchen staff, coordinate daily food preparation and service, support stock control and food costing, and uphold the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and teamwork.
You will play a critical role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations, meeting service timelines, and ensuring compliance with institutional and public health standards.
Key Requirements:

• 
  
• Diploma or Degree in Food Production, Catering, or a related field.
  
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory, hands-on kitchen role within an institutional setting.
  
• Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
  
• Solid knowledge of food safety, hygiene (HACCP), and kitchen operations.
  
• Ability to prepare diverse meals, including pastries and baked goods, from scratch.
  
• Physically fit and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and school holidays.
  
• Proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
