Job Description/Requirements
Report to: Head of Supply Chain
Direct Reportees: 6 Depot Managers
Work Station: Nairobi
Job Purpose
The overall purpose of the role is to develop a strategic plan for optimized supply chain and distribution activities, review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivational work environment, and implementing innovative changes while adhering to company standards for excellence and quality.
Key duties and responsibilities
a) Oversee, coach, and develop team members in order to grow the business and maintain profitability. This includes training team members on systems, policies, compliance, account management, recovery, and daily performance reports
b) Participate in formulating and administering company policies, directing and coordinating all
divisional / department activities to develop and implement long term goals to meet business and profitability growth objectives
c) Review and support development of supply chain and distribution concepts with fundamental or new technology to provide cost reduction, meet customer requirements, and market growth
d) Review analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine the division’s progress toward the company’s goals and objectives
e) Confer with the head of supply Chain and other administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions
f) Develop, review, update, and implement business strategic planning, including sales, financial performance, and new product development
g) Review supply chain reports and resolve operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays and to meet future growth
h) Translate the strategic imperatives of supply chain into achievable plans, with established priorities and make periodic adjustments as required
i) Participate as a member of senior management in formulating corporate strategies, policies, plans and budgets and in monitoring the organization’s performance to ensure achievement of set targets
j) Overall responsibility in the development and implementation of innovative strategies in supply chain that are in line with Pearl’s overall strategy
k) Oversee development and continuous review of supply chain policies and procedures and ensure provision of guidance to management in the interpretation and implementation of the same
l) Coordinate the preparation and compilation of agreed periodic reports for the attention of the Chief Executive Officer
m) Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews; and
n) Any other responsibilities assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
• Master’s degree or Bachelor degree in either Business Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field required
• Minimum of 12 years’ experience.

Responsibility for finances and physical assets
• The job holder is accountable for the preparation and tracking of the department’s budget including assets, stocks and work tools assigned.
Decision-making
• The job holder has decision making authority on key decisions in the organization is within existing guidelines and provides recommendations to the Head of Supply Chain to facilitate final decisions.
