The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for Managing all sales activities for the Hotel and overseeing the day to day running of the sales department.

Job descriptions & requirements

ACCOUNTABILITIES

v Establishing and servicing a strong customer database, individually and for the sales Team

v Maintaining and increasing sales & revenues for the hotel products

v Reaching the targets and goals allocated

v Establishing, maintaining and expanding customer base

v Servicing the needs of existing customers

v Increasing business opportunities through various routes and new companies

v Setting sales targets for individual sales executives

v Recruiting and training sales staff

v Allocating areas/accounts to sales executives

v In consultation with the GM/Director of Sales, establish strategies for increasing sales.

v Monitoring Sales team’s performance and motivating them to reach targets

v Compiling and analyzing sales reports

v Collecting customer feedback and solving customer complains

v Reporting to senior Management

v Keeping up to date with products and competitors and reporting the same to management

v Suggesting areas of improvement to management and promotions that will place the hotel in the competitive market arena and generating more revenues

v Representing the Hotel in industry meetings/key events/Conventions

v Visiting customers and potential customers alongside sales executives

v Cold calling customers and potential customers alongside sales executives

v Cold calling customers and selling services and products

v Liaising with other departments within the company

v Chasing leads and following up on opportunities to generate sales

v Arranging to attend industry conferences and events

v Networking with companies in the industry

v Representing the General manager when and as required


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

v Proven track record of successful Hospitality Career

v Relevant industry experience and knowledge of the company’s market

v Highly motivated with a drive to succeed and a passion for sales

v Target driven and money motivated individual

v Excellent sales and negotiation skills

v Good business sense

v The ability to motivate and lead a team

v Initiative and enthusiasm

v Excellent communication and ’people skills’

v Good planning and organizational skills

v The ability to work calmly under pressure

v Good IT, budget and Report writing skills
