Job role
On behalf of our client, a leading player in manufacturing and integrated printing and packaging solutions, we are seeking to recruit a Chinese-Speaking Business Development Executive.
The primary objective of this role is to accelerate revenue growth by identifying, capturing, and expanding business opportunities within Chinese-owned and managed companies across East Africa. The successful candidate will focus on integrated solution-selling across the client’s specialized business units.
Academic & Professional Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field
· Possession of an HSK 5 or HSK 6 (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) certificate or an equivalent degree from a recognized Chinese university to verify professional fluency in Mandarin and English.
Experience
· Minimum of 5+ years of proven B2B sales experience.
· Exceptional prospecting, networking, and closing skills with a track record of meeting high-value sales targets.
· Prior experience working with or selling to Chinese-managed businesses is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track the sales pipeline, lead conversion rates, and client interactions.
- Ability to use Excel for complex sales forecasting, revenue tracking across multiple business units, and preparing performance reports.
- Technical capability to bundle services from different units (cross-selling) into a single, cohesive proposal for large corporate clients.
- Proficiency in using digital tools to gather and analyze data on the Chinese business landscape in East Africa.
- Ability to accurately calculate margins and prepare technical quotes for complex, multi-unit printing projects.
- Technical skill in managing high-value B2B negotiations, specifically tailored to the procurement cycles of Chinese-managed firms.
- Mastering the technical stages of a B2B sales funnel, from cold prospecting in Mandarin to final closing and contract management.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Strategically develop and grow the Chinese client segment throughout the East African region.
- Drive new business acquisition and consistent revenue growth across all specialized printing and packaging units.
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with Chinese business leaders, managing complex negotiations and long-term partnerships.
- Identify opportunities to offer integrated solutions by cross-selling products across asigned business units
- Work closely with internal production and logistics teams to ensure delivery excellence and quality standards are met for every client.
- Provide ongoing insights and intelligence regarding the Chinese business landscape and competitor activities in the region.
