Job Summary

Develop and drive the overall brand/category strategies by creating and applying Regional/local marketing initiatives to deliver the right balance of organic growth, brand expansion and diversification, supported by the appropriate resources and information networks to deliver agreed profitability

Job Description/Requirements

1. Create, develop, and oversee the implementation of brand strategy to support the overall marketing strategy.

2. Deliver brand targets for NNS & GM%, M&C plans, NPD programs and brand equity / brand health measures (awareness, trial, attribute rating.)

3. Deliver overall budgeted profitability by growing and sustaining brand performance.

4. Lead NPD process for Kenya ensuring that its requirements are managed by various functions and delivered according to targets.

5. Ensure category pricing supports brand positioning and is relevant to the competitive arena.

6. Lead the selection of the appropriate Trade Channels

7. Explore and exploit new opportunities for the brand portfolio.

8. Identify market, category and consumer insights and deliver agreed marketing research plans.

9. Monitor, control, and report brand performance through internal & external brand health indicators such as NNS, GM, MC & key consumer KPIs providing solutions to shortfalls.

10. Execute brand M&C plan within guidelines & budget, creating and modifying as necessary to meet objectives.

11. Proactively lead the Business Planning process.

Job Context & Special

May require

  • Significant in-country and regional travel
  • Moderate International travel ( Visit key markets at least once a quarter)
  • Flexibility to work on weekends

Qualifications Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree. Post graduate degree is desirable.
  • Over 6 years combined experience in Brand, sales, and trade marketing.
  • Experienced in market development (working across more than 1 market )
  • Handled 5+ sub-categories at a given time.
  • Experienced and in digital marketing, penetration, and brand advocacy initiatives
