JOB TITLE: CHEF

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, cook, and present food to the highest quality standards in line with the menu and brand expectations
  • Oversee all kitchen production activities to ensure timely and consistent food output
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the kitchen team during food preparation and service periods
  • Allocate duties to kitchen staff and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
  • Train new and existing kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, hygiene, and safety standards
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene policies, and health inspections
  • Monitor portion sizes and food presentation to maintain quality and control costs
  • Plan daily food production schedules based on business demand
  • Participate in menu planning, recipe standardization, and food costing exercises
  • Manage kitchen inventory including ordering, receiving, storage, and stock rotation
  • Minimize food wastage through proper planning, storage, and utilization of ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations at all times
  • Identify equipment maintenance needs and report faults promptly
  • Coordinate with front-of-house and management teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Handle customer feedback related to food quality and implement improvements
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Step in during peak periods to support production and service as required


KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a professional hospitality or kitchen setup
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality operations and kitchen best practices
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a kitchen production team
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • High standards of cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail
