DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, cook, and present food to the highest quality standards in line with the menu and brand expectations
- Oversee all kitchen production activities to ensure timely and consistent food output
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the kitchen team during food preparation and service periods
- Allocate duties to kitchen staff and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Train new and existing kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, hygiene, and safety standards
- Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene policies, and health inspections
- Monitor portion sizes and food presentation to maintain quality and control costs
- Plan daily food production schedules based on business demand
- Participate in menu planning, recipe standardization, and food costing exercises
- Manage kitchen inventory including ordering, receiving, storage, and stock rotation
- Minimize food wastage through proper planning, storage, and utilization of ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and workstations at all times
- Identify equipment maintenance needs and report faults promptly
- Coordinate with front-of-house and management teams to ensure smooth service delivery
- Handle customer feedback related to food quality and implement improvements
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Step in during peak periods to support production and service as required
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a professional hospitality or kitchen setup
- Strong knowledge of hospitality operations and kitchen best practices
- Proven ability to lead and manage a kitchen production team
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- High standards of cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail
