DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Food Preparation & Production
· Prepare, cook, and present meals according to approved recipes and quality standards.
· Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner to meet customer expectations.
· Portion and plate meals consistently while maintaining presentation standards.
· Assist in menu preparation and daily food production planning.
· Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, marinating, and measuring as required.
· Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food quality and safety.
Kitchen Operations
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, food preparation areas, and equipment.
· Ensure all kitchen equipment is used correctly and reported for maintenance when necessary.
· Store food items appropriately to preserve freshness and minimize waste.
· Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food deliveries.
· Monitor stock levels and notify the supervisor of shortages or replenishment needs.
Food Safety & Hygiene
· Adhere to food safety regulations and company hygiene standards at all times.
· Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items.
· Follow sanitation procedures for utensils, workstations, and kitchen equipment.
· Comply with health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Teamwork & Customer Service
· Work collaboratively with other kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
· Support colleagues during busy service periods.
· Respond promptly to special dietary requests and customer feedback where applicable.
· Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude throughout each shift.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
· Certificate in Food Production, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
· Minimum of two (2) years' experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or commercial kitchen.
· Experience preparing a variety of local and international dishes is an added advantage.
· Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
· Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
· Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet service deadlines.
