Job Summary

The service manager will play an essential role in customer relations by providing efficient problem-solving and building lasting relationships. S/he will be responsible for the overall management of the service team, be the focal point for all service-related queries from clients, as well as ensuring continuous training and upskilling

  • Minimum Qualification : Bachelors
  • Experience Level : Mid level
  • Experience Length : 5 years

Job Description/Requirements

  1. Assist with preparation of the Service Business plan/AOP & forecast.
  2. Meet/exceed AOP sales and profit for the Service Department.
  3. Develop, in conjunction with the Head of Aftermarket, advertising and promotions activities at local level.
  4. Ensure that key account management plans are implemented.
  5. Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, Cummins Inc. and individuals to achieve department, company and customer requirements.
  6. Ensure sufficient coverage of the department during opening hours.
  7. Lead the implementation of, and actively advance the Distributor/Dealer excellence programme for the Service Department.
  8. Ensure that WIP is kept to minimum, urging daily invoicing.
  9. Ensure cleanliness of the department.
  10. Ensure that cash & cheque transactions are banked accurately and on time.
  11. Recruit and train shop/floor apprentices in accordance in accordance with company procedures.
  12. Proper utilization of workshop personnel for maximum labour recovery
  13. Lead, manage and motivate employees, ensure that control and discipline is adhered to in conjunction with the department and HR guidelines.
  14. Complete, agree on and monitor employee workplans.
  15. Ensure the welfare and equitable treatment of all staff.
  16. Ensure that service staff participate in monthly Health and Safety meetings, quality and all other company policies. Action plans should be agreed and monitored.
  17. Champion HSE activities. Ensure that reasonable precautions to protect own safety and that of others.
  18. Ensure that self and others use appropriate PPE.
  19. Report all hazards and accidents for correction.
  20. Maintain security of all company assets, including departmental vehicles and tooling.
  21. Ensure TB ratio is monitored and maintained

 

Below are the skills and qualification for the role:

  1. Diploma/Degree in Mechanical engineering
  2. Proficient with computer packages
  3. Proficient in SAP
  4. 3-5 Years Technical knowledge gained in a similar industry.
  5. Knowledge of Health & safety procedures.
  6. Knowledge of quality procedures.
  7. Relevant product knowledge.
