Job Description
The Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation was established through a Legal Gazette Notice No. of as a State Corporation with the aim of promoting forest conservation by providing buffer zones of tea and assorted tree species to check against human encroachment into the forestland.
Job Specification
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-
Develop, implement and review Employee Resourcing procedures and guidelines; Undertake human resource planning; update and maintain a database on recruitment and selection process including staff appointed and staff on contract; Ensure implementation of the human resource management information system for monitoring, tracking, and evaluating employee activities; Preparation, implementation and monitoring of the approved budget on corporation’s training and development; Measurement of the effectiveness of training and development interventions to ensure return on investment; Provision of career growth opportunities for employees; Develop and review job descriptions and specification for cadres in the Organization; Coordination of staff performance appraisal system in the corporation, Establish and maintain a staff skills inventory; Undertake background checks and verification of human resource documents; Manage employee confirmation, promotion and redesignation; Develop and implement succession management framework; and Build capacity through training and mentorship in employee resourcing Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
At least fifteen years relevant work experience, three years of which must have been in a management level Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science/Government, Anthropology or any other Social Science from a recognized Institution; Master’s degree in any of the Human Resources, Management/Development/Planning, Industrial Relations, Public Administration, Business Administration/Management/Development or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Leadership Course lasting not less than four weeks from a recognized institution; institution; Membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM); Valid annual Practicing Certificate from the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM); Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) Proficiency in computer application skills; Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, managerial and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and resultsImportant Safety Tips
