A distinguished resort located in Kajiado is seeking an experienced, detail-driven, and inspiring Executive Housekeeper to lead its Housekeeping and Laundry operations.

This is a senior leadership role suited for a professional who is passionate about operational excellence, people development, and delivering immaculate guest experiences. The Executive Housekeeper will play a critical role in upholding the resort’s standards of cleanliness, safety, and service while driving efficiency, team engagement, and cost control.


Key Responsibilities

· Oversee all housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation throughout the resort.

· Lead, mentor, train, and motivate the housekeeping team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous professional growth.

· Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and heart-of-the-house areas to ensure full compliance with resort standards.

· Manage recruitment, duty scheduling, training, performance appraisals, and disciplinary processes within the department.

· Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly, ensuring effective follow-up and resolution.

· Manage departmental budgets, labor costs, inventories, and resources to maximize efficiency and profitability.

· Ensure all linen, guest supplies, cleaning materials, uniforms, and equipment are maintained at agreed stock levels and in good condition.

· Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations at all times.

· Coordinate closely with Front Office, Engineering, Security, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.

· Manage lost-and-found procedures accurately and consistently.

· Oversee special cleaning programs and deep-cleaning schedules for guest rooms and public areas.

· Supervise laundry and valet operations, ensuring service standards are consistently met.

· Maintain proper control and accurate documentation of all keys issued to housekeeping staff.

· Act as liaison with external contractors and service providers, ensuring all services meet resort standards.

· Participate in inventories, loss analysis, emergency procedures, and Manager-on-Duty responsibilities as required.

· Prepare departmental reports, records, and documentation accurately and within required timelines.

· Ability to manage large teams in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

· Financial and commercial acumen with proven experience managing budgets and inventories.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing operational needs.

· High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to exceptional guest service.

· Flexible and willing to work varied hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Housekeeping Management, or a related field.

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior housekeeping leadership role, preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel or resort.

· Proven experience leading and managing large housekeeping teams.

· Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Experience with housekeeping systems and Property Management Systems (PMS) is an added advantage.
