We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Food & Beverage Purchasing Officer to manage procurement activities for our hospitality operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality food, beverage, and operating supplies, negotiating competitive prices with suppliers, and ensuring efficient inventory management.
The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent supplier relationship management, and the ability to coordinate closely with the Finance and Operations teams to maintain cost efficiency and minimize waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Supplier Management: Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate pricing and payment terms, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Order Management: Prepare, place, and track Purchase Orders (LPOs) based on operational requirements and stock levels.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, identify shortages, and assist with regular stock counts and inventory audits.
- Receiving & Quality Control: Verify deliveries to ensure accuracy in quantity, quality, and pricing against purchase orders.
- Financial Coordination: Reconcile supplier invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes, and coordinate with the Finance department for proper documentation and payment processing.
- Cost Control & Reporting: Maintain procurement records and prepare reports on purchasing costs and supplier performance.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market prices, supplier trends, and product availability to ensure competitive procurement strategies.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to food safety standards, quality requirements, and proper handling of perishable goods.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer, Procurement Officer, or Buyer in the hospitality or F&B industry.
- Diploma or Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in procurement software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and cost management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, quality control, and handling of perishable goods.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
