FLOWER FARM NURSE

Top Notch Management Services is Human Resources Management consulting firm with its head office in Nairobi and branches across the Country. On behalf of our client a leading producer and exporter of high-quality fresh cut flowers, we are seeking to hire for the position of a highly motivated and results-driven Farm Nurse to join their team. The farm is located at Athi Kapiti Plains – Kajiado County. The ideal candidate will be expected to assist in providing professional nursing care and first aid services to injured employees, promote occupational health and safety, and ensure compliance with workplace health standards within the flower farm.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Provide immediate medical attention to employees for injuries and illnesses occurring at the workplace.
- Maintain and manage the staff clinic, ensuring adequate supplies of medicine and equipment.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as per medical guidelines.
- Refer serious cases to appropriate medical facilities and follow up on referred cases.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all employees.
- Prepare periodic health and medical reports for management.
- Ensure timely reporting of occupational accidents and injuries.
- Support the implementation of workplace health and safety policies.
- Conduct regular health talks and awareness campaigns on hygiene, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, and reproductive health.
- Participate in risk assessments and health audits in collaboration with the Health & Safety team.
- Conduct periodic health checks for employees, especially those exposed to chemicals and pesticides.
- Monitor and advise on employees’ fitness to work.
- Work closely with management to identify and control workplace health hazards.
- Manage clinic budgets and requisition medical supplies in a timely manner.
- Liaise with local health facilities and insurance providers when needed.
- Support HR in medical-related matters such as sick leave, medical insurance claims, and return-to work programs.
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered and licensed with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience, preferably in flower farming.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
- Certification in First Aid and Occupational Health Nursing will be an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Good record-keeping and report-writing skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Team player with a proactive approach to health management.
