General Restigered Nurse

We are recruiting on behalf of a healthcare facility based in Uthiru, Nairobi, seeking an

experienced, compassionate, and patient-centered General Registered Nurse to join their

clinical team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality

nursing care while supporting excellent patient outcomes and healthcare service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.

• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by medical practitioners.

• Monitor patient progress and report any changes in condition promptly.

• Provide pre-and post-operative care where applicable.

• Provide comprehensive and high-quality clinical services. This includes initial assessment of patients, triaging, MCH/FP according to the nursing procedures.

• Ensure the Hospital is always ready and well-stocked with supplies and equipment.

• Be an Infection Prevention and Control Champion by implementing IPC best practices.

• Accurately and comprehensively records patients' data in real time.

• Complete the necessary MoH reporting requirements and ensure timely and accurate submission.

• Provide quality patient education and excellent patient experience to all clients.

• Record all sentinel incidents/events and report within 24 hours using the provided tools.

• Active participation in ward rounds and receiving handover reports from the outgoing nurse on shift.

• Proper documentation of patient notes and review, consulting with fellow clinicians.

• Ensure patient safety following the 6 International Patient Safety Goals (IPSGs).

• Provide patient and family education/teaching applicable to the patient’s medical condition.

• Complete official checklists for all patients before any procedure.

• Ensure patient privacy, comfort, dignity, and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

• Drug administration – adhere to the 10 rights of drug administration (right patient, medication, dosage, route, time, documentation, client education, assessment, evaluation, and client refusal of treatment)

• Work closely with doctors, laboratory personnel, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.

• Support quality improvement initiatives within the hospital.

• Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of healthcare delivery.

• Seek advice and assistance from the management with any assigned cases or issues that prove to be beyond the scope and professional competence in line with principles of best practice and clinical governance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

• Valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) registration and practicing license.

• Minimum of four (4) years continuous clinical experience as a general nurse.

• ACLS and BLS certifications are an added advantage.

• Demonstrate evidence-based knowledge of current practices in critical care nursing

• Proven experience delivering high-quality patient care.

• Computer literacy
