HEAD CHEF
Job summary
Machakos Golf Club, a prestigious and fast-growing recreational institution, is seeking an experienced, creative, and highly skilled Head Chef to oversee and manage all kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality cuisine, lead a diverse team, and support the Club’s vibrant calendar of events, membership dining, tournaments, and social functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily kitchen operations to ensure high standards of food production and presentation.
- Develop and execute creative menus for à la carte, buffet, grill, and banquet service.
- Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards in compliance with public health guidelines.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and appraise kitchen staff to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor stock levels, manage ordering, control food costs, and minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with the General Manager and Service Team during events, tournaments, and peak service hours.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workspaces.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Production, or Hospitality Management.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a busy hotel, restaurant, or club environment as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
- Strong knowledge in continental, African, grill, and buffet cuisine.
- Proven experience managing kitchen teams in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent understanding of food safety, HACCP procedures, and inventory control.
