 Duties of a Head Housekeeper

1. Supervision and Management:

• Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department.
• Manage and lead housekeeping staff, including assigning tasks and conducting training sessions.
• Schedule staff shifts and manage time-off requests.

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure they meet the hotel's cleanliness standards.
• Address any issues or deficiencies promptly and effectively.

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and other housekeeping materials.
• Place orders for supplies and ensure timely delivery.

• Respond to guest inquiries and complaints related to housekeeping services.
• Ensure guest rooms are prepared according to guest preferences and special requests.

• Train new housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and hotel policies.
• Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for existing staff.

• Assist in preparing and managing the housekeeping department's budget.
• Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.

• Work closely with other departments, such as maintenance and front desk, to coordinate services and address issues.
• Communicate effectively with the hotel management team to report on housekeeping performance and challenges.
