Job Description

CDL was founded in early by its current Managing Director Lucy Mmari.Within her 14 year tenure in a well established logistics company, She honed her skill in human resources management and thereafter started CDL.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

Oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures. Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis. Develop financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Accounting and Reporting:

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards. Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage the external audit process and liaise with auditors.

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Delegate responsibilities and provide guidance to ensure efficient and effective team performance. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Risk Management:

Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and laws. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.

Strategic Planning:

Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute the organization’s strategic plan. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational efficiency. Participate in investment planning and analysis.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. CPA(K) certification and membership in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. Over 5 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial position. Strong knowledge of financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
