Job Vacancy: Junior Accountant 
Location: Nairobi
Sector: Real Estate
Job Purpose: Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our esteemed client, in the Real Estate industry, is seeking an experienced Junior Accountant to join their finance team. The Junior Accountant will support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to the overall financial integrity of the business. This role offers an opportunity to grow within a dynamic real estate environment, working closely with senior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities


  • Record and post daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and receipts, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial accounts.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and schedules.
  • Prepare and process invoices, bills, and expense reports, ensuring proper authorization.
  • Support the month-end close process, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Use Zoho accounting software to manage transactions and produce reports.
  • Support other accounting and finance tasks as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the real estate sector.
  • Proven proficiency in Zoho accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books) for daily accounting tasks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA progress or qualification is a plus).
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in data management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
