For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
OR
- KMTC Higher Diploma in Anesthesia, Critical Care, Nephrology, Peri-Operative Nursing, Theater Nursing, Psychiatry and Mental Health, Pediatric Nursing, Ophthalmic Nursing, Palliative Care, Public Health Nursing, Midwifery, Oncology, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Family Health, with practice in the relevant field for a minimum of six (6) years
- Been registered with Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK);
- Valid practicing license; and
- Proficiency in computer applications.
