Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and versatile Mathematics and Science Teacher with strong expertise in Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, and Physics. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently teaching and supporting learners across all five subject areas, developing engaging lessons, preparing assessments, monitoring learner progress, and providing academic guidance. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong subject-matter knowledge across both mathematical and scientific disciplines, excellent communication skills, and the ability to simplify complex concepts for learners with different levels of understanding.


Key Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, and Physics effectively.

• Develop and deliver structured lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching materials.

• Explain complex mathematical and scientific concepts in a clear and practical manner.

• Prepare learners for examinations, tests, assignments, and practical assessments.

• Develop and administer quizzes, tests, examinations, and other assessments.

• Mark and evaluate learner work and provide constructive feedback.

• Track and report learner progress and identify areas requiring additional support.

• Provide remedial lessons and individualized academic support where necessary.

• Conduct practical demonstrations and experiments for Chemistry and Physics where applicable.

• Teach statistical concepts, data analysis, probability, and interpretation of statistical results.

• Apply appropriate teaching methodologies to accommodate different learning abilities.

• Integrate technology and relevant educational tools into teaching.

• Maintain accurate learner attendance, assessment, and performance records.

• Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and curriculum development.

• Support learners in developing problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking, and quantitative reasoning skills.

• Maintain a professional, positive, and disciplined learning environment.

• Keep up to date with developments in mathematics, statistics, science education, and relevant curricula.

• Collaborate with other teachers and academic staff to improve learner outcomes.


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Physical Sciences, Education, or a closely related field.

• Strong academic background covering Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, and Physics.

• A teaching qualification such as PGDE, Diploma in Education, B.Ed., or equivalent is highly desirable, depending on the institution's requirements.

• Relevant professional teaching certification/registration where applicable.

• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching or lecturing experience across multiple mathematical and science disciplines.

• Demonstrable ability to teach all five subject areas independently.

• Strong understanding of mathematical and scientific principles, theories, calculations, and applications.

• Experience preparing learners for relevant examinations and assessments.
