JOB TITLE: MECHANICAL SALES ENGINEER - PUMPS & VALVES
NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME
SALARY:KSHS. 25,000 – 40,000 KES (NET) + COMMISSIONS
JOB LOCATION: WESTLANDS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, and hedges, ensuring they are healthy and well-kept.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve sales targets.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry trends.
- Develop and present proposals to prospective clients.
- Offer technical advice and solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Collaborate with internal sales teams to develop custom solutions for clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure continuous business.
- Provide after-sales report to address customer concerns or issues.
- Work closely with engineering and supply chain teams to ensure product quality and timely delivery.
- Support marketing initiatives such as exhibitions and product demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions.
- Prepare weekly reports on sales performance, call plan, visitation and market trends.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities and competitive threats.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients throughout the sales process.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 2–3 years of work experience in sales or technical roles within the mechanical engineering field
- Strong knowledge of pumps and valves, including applications and specifications
- Proven experience selling pumps and valves or related mechanical equipment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into customer-focused solutions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer relationship management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic CRM tools is an added advantage
