DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Mill Operations Management

·       Oversee the entire milling process, from raw material intake to finished product output.

·       Manage daily production activities to ensure production targets are achieved efficiently.

·       Monitor milling processes, machinery performance, and product consistency.

·       Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials, equipment, and manpower.

·       Identify and resolve operational challenges to minimize downtime and production losses.

·       Coordinate routine maintenance activities with the technical team to ensure smooth plant operations.

Production Planning & Management

·       Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.

·       Monitor production volumes, yields, and efficiency against set targets.

·       Ensure timely production and availability of finished products.

·       Maintain accurate production records, reports, and operational documentation.

·       Analyze production data and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and profitability.

Quality Control & Food Safety

·       Ensure flour products meet required quality standards and specifications.

·       Implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP principles, and food safety procedures.

·       Monitor quality parameters throughout the milling process.

·       Ensure proper handling, storage, and processing of raw materials and finished products.

·       Work closely with quality assurance teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

·       Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation within the plant.

Staff Supervision & Leadership

·       Supervise, train, and motivate factory staff to achieve operational goals.

·       Allocate duties and manage shift activities effectively.

·       Ensure employees follow production procedures, safety guidelines, and company policies.

·       Monitor staff performance, attendance, and productivity.

·       Promote teamwork, discipline, and a positive workplace culture.

Inventory & Resource Management

·       Monitor stock levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and production supplies.

·       Ensure proper storage and handling of grains and finished products.

·       Work closely with procurement and warehouse teams to maintain uninterrupted production.

·       Control production wastage and optimize resource utilization.

Health, Safety & Compliance

·       Enforce workplace health and safety standards within the milling facility.

·       Ensure all employees use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

·       Identify workplace risks and implement preventive measures.

·       Maintain compliance with relevant food manufacturing and occupational safety regulations.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

·       Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Milling Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field.

·       Minimum of four (4+) years' experience as a Miller, Production Manager, or similar role in a busy flour milling plant.

·       Strong hands-on experience in flour milling operations, production management, and factory supervision.

·       Experience managing production teams in a food processing environment is essential.

·       Strong knowledge of flour milling processes and equipment.

·       Excellent production planning and operational management skills.

·       Strong leadership and team management abilities.

·       Good understanding of food safety, quality control, and hygiene standards.

·       Ability to troubleshoot production challenges and make sound decisions.
