I’m helping Softgic find a top candidate to join their team full-time for the role of Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer – Tier 3.

What makes you a strong candidate:

  • You have +5 years experience in Network operations center, Network operations.
  • You are proficient in Zabbix, Wireless network, Virtual private network, VLANs, Troubleshooting, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
  • Spanish - Conversational
  • English - Fully fluent

Requirements:


* 5+ years of experience in Network Operations, NOC, or Network Engineering roles.

* Strong hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar.

* Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, and switching.

* Solid experience with LAN/WAN technologies, MPLS, SD-WAN, and wireless networks.

* Proven troubleshooting skills with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and Layer 2 technologies (STP, VLANs).

* Experience configuring and supporting firewalls, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and NAT.

* Familiarity with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.

* Experience working in 24/7 operational environments and on-call rotations.


Responsibilities:


* Monitor network and infrastructure performance using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, and proprietary monitoring platforms (e.g., Cosmos), ensuring compliance with SLA requirements.

* Analyze network performance trends, including bandwidth utilization, latency, packet loss, and key KPIs, proactively identifying risks and bottlenecks.

* Respond to alerts, incidents, and outages within defined SLA timeframes, managing the full incident lifecycle from detection through resolution.

* Perform advanced triage, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA), documenting findings and lessons learned.

* Act as the primary escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams and coordinate escalations to Tier 4 engineers, specialized teams, and external vendors.

* Lead and participate in bridge calls during major incidents, ensuring clear communication with technical teams, management, and business stakeholders.

* Execute firmware upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and maintenance activities on network devices following change management processes.

* Configure, support, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.

* Implement and manage VLANs, access control policies, VPN connections, and secure network configurations.

* Troubleshoot and resolve issues across LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and wireless environments.

* Diagnose routing and switching issues involving BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, and related technologies.

* Analyze network traffic using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump to identify and resolve complex issues.

* Support and resolve issues related to DNS, DHCP, firewalls, NAT, VoIP, SSID requests, conference room connectivity, and other special network requests.

* Identify recurring incidents, track operational trends, and recommend preventive and continuous improvement measures.


Preferred Qualifications:


* Network certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent.

* Experience with vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Aruba.

* Knowledge of ITIL processes, change and incident management, and SLA-driven environments.

* Experience working with telecom providers and external vendors.

* Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
