DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Distribution & Logistics Management

Main Task:

Oversee the full distribution cycle to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of alcoholic beverages.

Subtasks:

  • Ensure vehicles are loaded accurately against delivery notes.
  • Track deliveries in real-time and resolve logistical challenges.
  • Ensure secure handling and transportation of alcohol stock.


Inventory & Warehouse Control

Main Task:

Maintain strict stock accuracy and ensure proper handling of alcoholic beverages.

Subtasks:

  • Supervise receiving, storage , and dispatch procedures.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Enforce FIFO and safe storage standards for beverages.
  • Monitor stock movements and prevent pilferage or breakages.
  • Maintain updated inventory records in ERP or manual systems.


Regulatory & Compliance Management

Main Task:

  • Ensure full compliance with Kenya’s alcohol distribution laws and safety regulations.

Subtasks:

  • Enforce adherence to alcohol handling regulations.
  • Ensure all delivery vehicles operate within legal requirements.
  • Oversee licensing requirements for premises, transport, and distribution.
  • Train staff on responsible alcohol distribution practices.
  • Ensure compliance with KEBS, KRA, County regulations, and safety standards.


Sales Support & Customer Order Fulfilment

Main Task:

Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to fulfill orders accurately and on time.

Subtasks:

  • Liaise with sales teams to confirm daily orders.
  • Ensure correct stock picking for each customer.
  • Support implementation of promotions and product launches.
  • Monitor order fill rates and delivery performance.


Staff Management & Performance Oversight

Main Task:

Lead warehouse staff, loaders, and drivers to maintain efficient operations.

Subtasks:

  • Allocate tasks and supervise daily activities.
  • Conduct training on safety, alcohol handling, and customer care.
  • Monitor staff attendance, discipline, and performance.
  • Ensure drivers follow route plans, delivery standards, and safety rules.
  • Manage shift schedules, leave planning, and workload distribution.


Risk, Safety & Loss Prevention

Main Task:

Maintain a safe environment and protect company stock, assets, and cash from loss.

Subtasks:

  • Implement procedures to prevent stock loss, spillage, and damage.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all dispatches and returns.
  • Investigate delivery variances, shortages, or breakages.
  • Enforce safety procedures in loading, handling, and transport.
  • Ensure drivers and warehouse teams follow PPE and safety rules.


Reporting & Data Analytics

Main Task:

  • Prepare accurate operational reports for decision-making.

Subtasks:

  • Prepare daily dispatch, stock movement, and delivery performance reports.
  • Analyse operational data and recommend improvements.
  • Report incidents, customer claims, or compliance breaches.
  • Submit periodic summaries to the General Manager.


KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in operations, logistics, or distribution (experience in FMCG or beverages is an added advantage).
  • Knowledge of alcohol distribution regulations preferred.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and logistics systems.
