Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a business-related course or its equivalent. CPA Part II is the minimum requirement, but candidates with CPA (K) will be preferred.
Experience: A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a busy trading, manufacturing, or distribution company. Experience in a retail, wholesale, or distributive environment will be an added advantage.
Salary: Kshs. 65,000 – 70,000 plus company benefits.
Duties:
The payables accountant’s main role is to manage the company’s payments to suppliers by ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and vendor payments. The role involves preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling financial transactions, statements, records, and reports. Key responsibilities include processing supplier invoices; supplier payments and reconciliations; timely and accurate monthly VAT filing; processing non-stock GRVs; bank reconciliations; timely monthly statutory payments; petty cash administration; staff advances ledger maintenance; accounts payable ledger maintenance; daily updating of the cash book; and performing other related duties as required.
