General Purpose
Our client, a leading dental healthcare provider in Nairobi, is seeking to recruit a competent, dynamic, and self motivated Procurement Officer to oversee procurement activities and ensure the efficient, timely, and cost effective acquisition of goods and services. The successful candidate will play a key role in supplier management, procurement planning, contract administration, and compliance while supporting operational excellence across the hospital.
Location: Nairobi| Gross Salary: Ksh. 50,000 – 65,000 (Depending on Experience)
Duties & Responsibilities
• Implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and financial objectives.
• Continuously review and improve procurement processes to meet changing business needs.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or service delivery.
• Source, evaluate, prequalify, and manage suppliers and service providers.
• Negotiate competitive pricing, favourable contract terms, and service level agreements.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships through framework agreements.
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and recommend improvements.
• Manage the preparation and processing of purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of goods and services to support hospital operations.
• Monitor inventory-related procurement requirements to prevent stock shortages.
• Support the drafting, review, execution, and renewal of procurement contracts.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Implement procurement controls to minimize operational and compliance risks.
• Prepare procurement reports on cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency.
• Analyze procurement data to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with departmental heads to understand procurement requirements and ensure timely fulfilment.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Professional qualification such as MCIPS or any other recognized procurement certification is mandatory.
• Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of procurement laws, regulations, and ethical procurement practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
