Job summary
The Procurement and Storage Manager drives sacquisition and secure inventory management for cleaning, waste, and exhauster services. By centralizing asset control and optimizing the supply chain, this role ensures cost-effective purchasing, minimizes waste, and maintains seamless resource delivery to all operational sites.
Job descriptions & requirements
A. Strategic Procurement and Cost Control
- Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors for equipment, consumables, spare parts, and general supplies.
- Cost Efficiency: Lead efforts to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality standards. Manage tendering and quotation processes for high-value purchases.
- Purchase Management: Oversee the entire purchase cycle, from requisitioning and issuing purchase orders to verifying invoices and coordinating with the finance department for timely payment.
B. Inventory and Storage Management
- Warehouse Operations: Manage the central storage facility. Implement efficient layout, stocking, and material handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent asset damage or loss.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records using digital systems. Conduct regular physical counts and audits to reconcile system records and identify discrepancies.
- Supply Chain to Sites: Manage the requisition process for operational sites. Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of necessary resources (e.g., safety gear, cleaning materials, small equipment) to prevent disruption of service delivery.
- Asset Tracking: Maintain a register for all company assets (e.g., vehicles, equipment, digital tools) and track their location and condition across all operating locations.
C. Compliance and Reporting
- Policy Enforcement: Develop and enforce robust internal procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and company guidelines.
- Documentation: Ensure all procurement and inventory documentation (quotes, contracts, delivery notes) is complete, accurate, and properly filed for audit purposes.
- Reporting: Generate monthly reports on procurement spending, inventory turnover rates, stock levels, and cost savings achieved.
3. Qualifications and Experience Required
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Inventory Control, preferably in a logistics-heavy or service industry environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software (IMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Excel for tracking costs and stock.
- Negotiation: Proven ability to negotiate favorable terms and build strong, professional relationships with vendors.
Desirable
- Professional certification (e.g., CIPS - Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
- Experience managing diverse assets and consumables in a multi-site operational environment.
