Job Purpose
The Production Assistant supports the efficient and safe processing of meat products in a midsized factory. This role ensures that production operations meet quality, safety, and hygiene standards while assisting the production team in day-to-day activities. The position requires basic knowledge of food science principles related to meat handling, preservation, and processing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Support
o Assist in the preparation, cutting, trimming, and packaging of meat products according to production plans.
o Support machinery operation under supervision, ensuring correct settings and procedures.
o Monitor production lines to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of daily production targets.
2. Food Safety and Quality
o Maintain hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations (e.g.,HACCP principles).
o Assist in inspecting raw materials for quality, freshness, and compliance with pecifications.
o Support quality control checks throughout the production process, including temperature monitoring and product labeling.
3. Inventory and Material Handling
o Assist in receiving and storing raw materials safely.
o Help maintain accurate records of production output and materials used.
o Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely supply of ingredients and packaging materials.
4. Maintenance and Housekeeping
o Help clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas according to sanitation schedules.
o Report any equipment malfunctions or hazards to the production supervisor.
o Assist in minor maintenance tasks under supervision.
5. Documentation and Compliance
o Record daily production data, including volumes produced and quality observations.
o Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and food safety regulations.
o Support audits by providing relevant production and quality records.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Diploma or Certificate in Food Science, Food Technology, Animal Science, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of meat processing, preservation methods, and hygiene practices.
• Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000) is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of production machinery and packaging equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Physically fit to work in a factory environment (standing for long periods, lifting moderate weights, working in cold storage).

• Knowledge of microbiology of meat and spoilage prevention.
• Ability to follow SOPs and maintain quality standards.
• Basic problem-solving for minor production issues.
