Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our esteemed client in the Retail Fashion industry, is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Manager. The Retail Sales Manager will be responsible for driving store performance, sales execution, staff discipline, and customer experience across the company retail outlets. The role requires a strong presence on the shop floor, excellent people management skills, and a commitment to operational excellence. The Retail Sales Manager will ensure that all stores maintain high standards of sales performance and represent the company brand professionally and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee daily store operations and overall sales performance, ensuring targets are met and exceeded.
• Coach, train, and develop sales teams to improve selling skills, upselling, and cross-selling techniques.
• Evaluate employee performance, conduct performance reviews, and take corrective action when necessary.
• Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring positive customer experiences that reinforce brand loyalty.
• Ensure store presentation, cleanliness, and operational discipline reflect company brand standards.
• Oversee stock control, including stock intake, stock counts, and investigation of discrepancies.
• Conduct in-person staff training, onboarding activities, and any certification processes required by the company.
• Monitor sales trends and prepare regular performance reports for senior management.
• Travel across the company stores to oversee operation including training, performance reviews, and support.
Qualifications
✓ Minimum 4–6 years in retail, with at least 2 years managing sales teams.
✓ Demonstrated ability to drive and achieve sales targets.
✓ Comfortable coaching and developing sales staff.
✓ Comfortable travelling across the company stores in the country.
✓ Experience managing underperforming team members.
✓ Experience in fashion, footwear, accessories, or premium retail preferred.
✓ Experience training, supervising, and evaluating sales staff.
✓ Experience overseeing stock intake, counts, and shrinkage control.
✓ Comfortable with reporting, reconciliation, and ensuring store compliance.
