JOB TITLE: SALES EXECUTIVE
NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME
SALARY: KSHS.20,000 PLUS COMMISSIONS
JOB LOCATION: ALONG MOMBASA ROAD.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Drive primary and secondary sales to achieve and exceed set daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Grow sales volumes across all product lines within the assigned territory.
- Actively identify and onboard new distributors, wholesalers, and retail outlets.
- Increase numeric distribution and market share in the assigned routes.
Distributor & Trade Management
- Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with distributors and key retail accounts.
- Ensure distributors maintain optimal stock levels and adhere to agreed pricing structures.
- Support distributors in route planning, sales execution, and territory coverage.
- Conduct joint market visits with distributor sales teams to improve performance.
Retail Execution & Merchandising
- Ensure products are well displayed, properly priced, and visible in all outlets.
- Implement in-store promotions, activations, and merchandising standards.
- Monitor product availability and take corrective action to prevent stock-outs.
- Ensure compliance with agreed planograms and brand guidelines.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Collect and report market feedback on pricing, promotions, new launches, and competitor activities.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Track sales performance against targets and recommend corrective actions where needed.
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with retail customers to ensure repeat business.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.
Collections & Credit Control
- Ensure timely collection of payments from distributors and retail customers.
- Follow up on outstanding debts in line with company credit policies.
- Minimize bad debts by enforcing agreed payment terms.
Execution of Sales Strategies
- Implement company sales strategies, campaigns, and promotional programs in the market.
- Participate in product launches and marketing activations.
- Provide feedback to management on strategy effectiveness and execution gaps.
Compliance & Administration
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales documentation.
- Ensure proper use and care of company resources assigned.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in FMCG sales
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong experience working with distributors and retail trade
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good knowledge of the Mombasa Road market and its environs is an added advantage
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and sales reporting tools
